3 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Hiring a Social Media Manager

Updated: Mar 22, 2022

So you've made up your mind to hire a Social Media Manager

Are you struggling to keep up with your social media presence?

Good news is you are not the only one.

Social media has grown rapidly and has become a crucial component of marketing strategy in today's world.

You see, maintaining a proper social media presence is not just a fad anymore.

As an entrepreneur, you need to understand how valuable it can be for your business and in your marketing efforts.

If you feel confused about using social media effectively, it might be time for you to consider outsourcing your social media management.

Many businesses could benefit from a social media manager, BUT it's extremely crucial to know what you should expect before taking the plunge.😊

Here are some of the things you need to understand working with one 👇

1️⃣ Do I know WHO my target audience is?

Knowing who your audience is the first step in creating content for them.

To get the most out of features and benefits, start off by creating a buyer persona or making sure that it is up-to-date if you already have one.

Your buyer persona should outline your ideal customers and what they want to achieve by using your product or service.

This helps you to understand who you are talking to with your content and to imagine yourself in their situation.

Understanding your audience is essential because by knowing who they are, you can anticipate their pain points and what they want to learn from you, which means that creating content around them becomes a breeze.

2️⃣ Do I know and understand what my social media goals are?

Knowing your audience is important, but you should also understand WHY you're doing so.

Are you trying to raise awareness about your brand?

Or to generate leads? Or to build a community for your business?

Understanding your goals is definitely important because it will help you decide what type of content you'll need to create.

Even when you have the right content, if your goals are unclear, it will feel like you're riding a Ferrari, but you don't know where you're going. 🤷‍♀️

3️⃣ Have I established my brand and brand identity?

The brand and brand identity you choose for your business aren't just for aesthetics!

What is your brand all about? What does your brand stand for? Does your brand identity align with your brand?

If you have no idea what your brand is, do not expect your audience to understand it either. 🤔

Your brand identity is all about personality. When you choose a brand or identity, you communicate what your business stands for and what you stand for as a designer.

Good branding tells the world who your target audience is, how you want them to feel, and what sets you apart from the rest of your competition.

This post is NOT meant to pressure you in any way. 😅
